Frequently Asked Questions


  • Where will the screenings take place?  Screenings take place on the grounds of historic Hockwold Hall located at 38 STATION RD, HOCKWOLD cum WILTON, BRANDON, IP26 4HZ.
  • Can I get a refund or transfer on my ticket? We do not offer refunds. Tickets may be transferred once at no additional charge. Transfers must be completed no later than 48 hours before the event.
  • What happens if the weather is bad? The show must go on! Bring your poncho, extra blanket, sunscreen or rain hat. Any cancellation or rescheduling due to EXTREME weather conditions will be announced on the Hockwold Hall main Facebook Page. Ticketed guests will also receive notice via the email address they provided for ticket purchase.
  • Can I bring an umbrella or a tent? No tents, gazebos, umbrellas or pop-up structures are allowed onsite.
  • Can I barbecue onsite? No cooking of food, open flames, fueled torches, bbq grills or candles are allowed onsite. Battery operated flashlights or torches only, please.
  • Can I smoke onsite? Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. No smoking is permitted in the screening area. This includes standard cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and e-cigarettes (vapes). This policy is strictly enforced.
  • Can I bring my pet onsite? Assistance Dogs are the only animals that are allowed onsite. Please contact the venue 24 hours in advance if you plan to bring an Assistance Dog.
  • What age of children are allowed onsite? No children under the age of 12 may attend the screenings. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while onsite.  Children who do not meet the required film certification age limit will not be admitted to the screening. Be sure to check the age requirement listed on each film page before purchasing a ticket.
  • Can I bring a picnic with me? You may bring a small picnic, however, no large coolers or cooking of any kind are allowed onsite.
  • Can I bring glassware onsite? For safety reasons glass items (including beer and wine bottles) are NOT allowed onsite. Plastic, waxed cardboard or metal containers only, please.
  • Do you provide chairs, blankets or ponchos? Feel free to bring your own chair. Chairs are not allowed in the seating area directly in front of the screen. A limited number of blankets and ponchos will be available for purchase onsite.
  • Can I buy food or drink on site? Snacks, sweets, popcorn, non-alcohol drinks, beer, and wine will be available for purchase onsite. Alcohol bought onsite may not be transported offsite.
  • Can I use my debit/credit card onsite? Cash is recommended since a consistent POS signal cannot be guaranteed.
  • Is there a fee for parking? General onsite parking is free. A premium parking location is available with VIP ticket purchase.
  • What does the Couple VIP Package include? 2 admission tickets, 1 premium parking spot, 2 spaces in the premium viewing area, use of 2 folding chairs, 1 popcorn coupon.
  • What is the age limit for purchasing or consuming alcohol on site? Our license does not allow the onsite purchase or consumption of alcohol by anyone under the age of 18. We enforce the Challenge 25 Policy – if you look under 25 we will ask you for ID. Anyone who provides alcohol to persons under the age of 18 will be required to leave the premises immediately.
  • Is the facility suitable for wheelchair users or persons with visual impairment? The events are held in an open field that is flat but has surface irregularities. The field is mowed to a height slightly longer than lawn. We cannot guarantee a staff member will be available to provide assistance on event day, so please plan accordingly.  A limited number of parking spaces are available in close proximity to the screening area. A single wheelchair accessible portable toilet is available. If you have questions please call our office 24 hours before the event.
  • When does the site open and close? Typically the site opens 45 minutes before the screening time and closes 45 minutes after the film ends. No cars or people are allowed onsite before or after these times. Please check the individual film information page for exact times.
  • What time does the screening start? All movies start near sunset, so start times can vary depending on the date of the screening. Please check the individual film information page for exact times.
  • Can I buy a ticket on site? Tickets are only available online. Typically events sell out well in advance. If the film is not sold out tickets may be purchased online up to 24 hours before the event. To purchase tickets please visit Hockwold Hall Outdoor Cinema.
  • What happens if I forget my e-ticket? We highly encourage attendees to download the e-ticket to their phone or print a copy. It is possible to verify the purchase once you are onsite, but if we are busy your entrance may be delayed as a result. Viewers who do not have their e-ticket will be required to show a valid photo ID to verify the purchase and to be admitted.
  • Do the films have subtitles? The films do not feature subtitles.
  • I can no longer attend – what can I do? Please contact us on hockwoldhall@gmail.com to arrange a transfer to an alternative film in the series.
  • Are garbage and recycle bins available onsite? Garbage and recycle bins are provided throughout the screening area and parking lot. Please be sure to properly dispose of waste in the provided receptacles or take it with you when you leave.
 
Event Day Tips:
 
  1. Check the weather on the event day and come prepared.
  2. Bring comfortable seating and/or a blanket.
  3. Bring a picnic and beverages (also available for purchase onsite).
  4. Bring a small flashlight.
  5. Abide by seating area designations.
  6. Avoid congregating in designated pathways.
 
Please help us protect our wildlife and our environment by placing your rubbish in the appropriate containers or taking it with you when you leave. This includes cigarette butts, matches, empty lighters, straws, metal pulls from cans, etc.
